The pet store I worked at had a pen with rabbits near the front door. On every side of the pen were huge signs saying “You can pet me, but don’t pick me up!” One day two absolutely huge guys came in and one immediately reaches into the pen to grab a rabbit. Before i could say anything his friend grabbed his arm and asked him “did you see the sign?” He said “yeah! it says that you can pick them up but don’t pet them!” Then he went quiet for a moment and softly said “I didn’t read it right did I?” And his friend just puts his arm on his shoulder and said “its ok, i know you’ve got that thing where words get mixed up. Let just pet these cute lil shits” And I still haven’t gotten over that interaction.

Hi, I’m Luna. I was rescued with my babies when I was poisoned. Nobody wanted me and I do not know why. I stayed with my rescuer. My human always tells me that I am the cutest and sweetest cat she has ever met. I’m a special cat and nobody wanted me. I have some problems in my intestines . I was crying in terrible pain and couldn’t move my back end now. My human has managed to pay for some treatment, but I’ll need surgery. She had some temporary jobs, but they do not pay much. She has no fixed job, no money for surgery, medication and transportation. As of now my bill is well over $1800 and rising. So we are looking for donations to pay for it. In Jewish tradition, one of our holidays is called Purim. It celebrates the defeat of an antisemitic political advisor to a king who liked to prowl the streets ranting his hatred. Part of the story of Purim involves the people being ranted at inventing a special kind of noisemaker to drown him out.
Basically what I’m saying is this student is following a grand tradition whether they realize it or not and they should be proud.
